Finally have some free time to blog for today.. had yet another exhausting but fun day. This time with Wenjie!! Hahah.. had gym in the early afternoon with CJ den met up with Wenjie.
After we met up, we went (more like rushed actually) over to Esplanade Concert Hall to catch the Philharmonic Youth Winds.. haven stepped into the concert hall for a long long time already.. think the last time was during end of JC 1 where I performed there with the other combined bands for Bandfest. That was like so long ago already... the feeling inside the concert hall was great.. but the Phil Youth Winds weren't that impressive to me. Firstly, the instrumentation wasn't complete. Basic instruments like oboe and bass clarinet were not present at all. The choice of pieces were terrible. Most of them were selections, where many different songs were put into one piece. Terrible!! Not a serious piece inside at all. Althou its made for the masses, at least they could have played something more layered, not straightforward, boring selection pieces. It was a rather boring concert I must say, quite disappointing. Babies were crying everywhere. No one wanted encore. And the conductor still encored himself. But at least it wasn't everything bad - the emcee was marvellous!! She spoke really terrific English and Chinese! Really professional!
After that went for lunch with Wenjie at Imperial Kitchen. Wonderful lunch!! Loved the lamian!! And I ordered these balls with red bean paste. 2 Thumbs up!! The skin was crispy and thick, unlike the camp uncle's balls, which were more nua nua and chewy. The red bean balls at Imperial Kitchen are really good, must try!
After lunch, the 2 of us went back to Esplanade again! This time round we went over to the Esplanade library where we booked a room to watch Riverdance and Lord of the Dance and Cirque du Soleil! Wow, it was so cool! The room was so cosy and the sound system (Bose) was terrific, and the flat screen tv was sharp and the air con was so cold. The 1.5 hrs spent there was so fruitful . Haven watched so much of Michael Flatley for such a long time. Its great to see him dancing so happily and passionately again. But his bad habits of groping his dancer's breasts were still evident. And he thot I din catch him doing so. I have very sharp eyes, you noe.
We finally finished watching Michael at 7.30 and then we left the library to catch all the wonderful performances ard Esplanade. We managed to watch some ppl singing oldies, CO section quartet, a harp cum tai-ji-quan performance, a Chinese Dance performance and a cai deng mi game! And Wenjie even managed to guess a deng mi correct, and won a prize!! Damn smart of him, hahah.
Overall, we spent like more than 6 hours at Esplanade alone.. really wonderful time spent there... and Wenjie liked it too.. think we can go there more often!!
After that we walked down to Clarke Quay where Jelvin joined us over at Mac Liang Court. But it was kinda late alr so in the end Wenjie left first. Jelvin and I den went over to Vivocity again. Managed to reach there at 11.15pm.. only stayed there for a while cause we had to catch the last bus home. He was damn jian lah.. made me take this really slow bus whereas he himself took a super fast one. He managed to reach home at like 12.30am and I only got off the bus at 1am at Hougang Interchange!! When I called him at the interchange, he actually told me that he had finished bathing alr and that he was reading the newspaper.. damn jian lah!! Ren ru qi ming!!
And naturally, I had no bus to take. And I was kinda broke, so in the end I decided to walk home. 8 bus stops. But I made it! Below half an hour summore! Could have been faster, but I was strolling pretty slowly, and singing "Get High" whilst walking, so that took more time.. I repeated Get high like 30 over times on the way home lah.. got kinda irritated by the end I reached home. Think must change disc alr, think wu niang would be a pretty gd choice!
Anyway, I have a query. Can a rice cooker make porridge? I was trying to cook some porridge for supper just now so I put in rice and lots of water. And when it was done, it became rice! So I thot maybe the water wasn't enough, so I added in more water to cover the rice and then when it was done, it still remained as rice! So i put in even more water to completely submerge the rice and when it was done, it still turned out as rice. In the end, I just scooped out the rice and added hot water. Finally got some porridge that I wanted.
Okie, tired alr. Sleeping now!
